Major Airports and Real Estate Projects in India

Many major airports are built in various parts of India, especially in major cities. All most all these airports are built by private sector in built operate and transfer method. All these major airports are of the world class in terms of infrastructure like maximum number of passengers handled or the number of flights handled, and is planned for future. They are built in record time and all these huge airports have other infrastructures like industrial complexes, IT parks, real estate townships and residential projects, aircraft maintenance and allied industries.

Kerala was the first to make such a kind of public-private partnership airport project in India. The CIAL airport project is still considered the best model for other airports to emulate in their expansion plans. Nedumbassery airport was in built in record time, with minimum cost and was considered to be the best airport in terms of facilities when completed. CIAL became profitable in the 3rd or 4th year and also started the second phase of expansion building bigger international terminals, golf courses and country club, aircraft maintenance facilities, huge convention centres, and now planning to build IT parks and integrated townships in the nearby area. All these facilities are planned to be independent profit centres, which will complement the CIAL to play even bigger role in the airport industry in the country and the world.

Nedumbassery’s face has changes once the airport project started functioning in the village. Now a lot of industries and corporate offices of various MNCs are located in Nedumbassery employing thousands of people. All this made Nedumbassery a major player in the real estate market with the booming market process for land and flats in Nedumbassery. Almost all major Kerala based and national based real estate companies have completed/on-going projects in India. Once a real countryside, Nedumbassery now resembles a happening place with new residential skylines and new age cafeterias that cater to the spanking residents, mostly NRIs who have moved from different places.
