Burj Khalifa which means Burj Tower situated in
Dubai started construction in the year 2004 January. The main conception of Burj
Khalifa was designed to be the centrepiece of a large scale mixed-development
that would include 30,000 homes, nine hotels including The Address Downtown
Dubai, 3 hectares of parkland, at least 19 residential towers, the Dubai Mall and the
12hectare man-made Burj Khalifa lake. The tower’s architecture and engineering
were performed by Skidmore, Owings and Merril and Bill Baker as chief engineer.
